At Melbourn Primary School, art is highly valued for nurturing creativity, fine motor skills, and appreciation of artists and designers. Our curriculum focuses on drawing, painting, and sculpture, with one area explored each term. Skills are revisited and built upon through a spiral curriculum, with sketchbooks travelling with children as they progress. Additional art forms like collage and printing are taught through cross-curricular projects and enrichment activities. We also offer wider opportunities such as gallery visits and creative workshops to connect children with art in the community.
