In November we will be entering the annual Inter-school cross country competition at Wimpole. In order to give our children the best chance of success, as well as running laps of the golden mile track, this year we have been taking the runners to the Moor to practice running a longer circuit. Last week, Mr Chapman and I took the Year 5 & 6 runners and this week was the turn of Year 3.
My visit to the Moor this week has been the highlight of my week! The children I took were such a delight. We chatted about a variety of things as we walked, from hiking in mountains to going fishing; what great conversationalists they are. They were also impeccably behaved – I was very proud!
At The Moor, the children ran the route with determination whilst applying all that Mr Chapman has taught them about pacing. I can’t wait to see how they do in the actual tournament – keep practising children! I am sorry parents if you get nagged to take your children to the Wimpole Park Run or to run around the Moor – we have some very eager runners!
