One of the lovely things about my office in summer is hearing the Foundation Stage (FS) children chatting to each other as they busy themselves in their outside activities. I have heard some lovely interactions this week and some entertaining ones too!
We are really proud of our FS department. The staff have worked hard over the last few years to improve the learning environment. We regularly have visits from the LA who come to assess the setting and advise the staff. In the most recent visit the LA were extremely complimentary about the many first hand experiences the teachers provide for the children. They also noted the high-quality learning opportunities and interactions between adults and children.
This week we enjoyed our first ‘stay and play’ of the year as the new September intake visited – I can’t believe it’s that time of year already! If you know of anyone who has not yet applied for a school place for a Foundation Stage child for September or has recently moved to the area we still have a few spaces so please encourage them to apply!
