I hope the children enjoyed the ‘silent’ disco yesterday; the adults certainly did although it wasn’t very silent – the ‘singing’ along was very entertaining! A huge thank you to the PTFA committee for organising such a fun evening for the children.
How wonderful that the sun has decided to make an appearance for the half-term break! I hope that you are able to enjoy the sunshine whether at home or away. I have heard much anticipation of paddling pools going up today – how exciting! I plan to clean our patio tomorrow and then to enjoy relaxing on it with a good book to read!
Good weather gives many opportunities for children to participate in outdoor activity away from screens which is so beneficial for their development and mental health. You may have noticed posters around school this week about the harms of social media to children. If you are worried about the impact of social media, please consider signing the national petition which has been written to achieve greater protections for under 16s: https://www.smartphonefreechildhood.org/petition (see link below).
Last but not least, I have very exciting news to share! A team of MPS children entered the Cambridgeshire Year 5 maths challenge on Tuesday and won the heat, beating 9 other schools. We are so proud of Fletcher, James, Imogen and Val who worked so well as a team and showcased their maths skills across each round. They are through to the final in July; well done children!
Have a wonderful break; see you back in school on Tuesday 2nd June in smart uniform ready for class photos.
