It is soo hot! Temperatures in school this week have been unbearably hot and uncomfortable as I am sure they have been in your homes (unless you are lucky enough to have air conditioning). I have had an extra-long commute this week transporting my husband, who is on crutches and unable to drive at the moment, to and from his work but the one bonus of this has been how lovely and cool it has been in the car!
We were disappointed to have to cancel Sports Day and the PTFA Summer Fayre, especially when so much hard work had gone into organising both events. I am delighted to share that the PTFA have been able to re-schedule all attractions and a new date has been set for Friday 18th September. We hope you will be able to join us; the event will provide an extra special start to the new academic year.
I would like to extend my praise to the children and adults in school for the way they have coped this week. Despite being very hot, sticky and tired they have all been incredible. The children have taken the heat completely in their stride and the adults have carried on teaching and supporting the children with their usual cheerfulness and care – thank you team. You are super stars!
Let’s hope for cooler days next week.
