Taking children on school trips is a key part of our curriculum at MPS. Trips support the branch of the school vision which is to ‘broaden the horizons of our children and show them that the world is theirs to explore.’ There has been much excited chatter in school following the Year 4 trip to the Science Centre in Cambridge yesterday. This was the first time we have taken children to the Science Centre. The children and staff have been buzzing about the activities they took part in! The cost of the trip was covered through grant funding so it was completely free too – how amazing!
Following the buzz about the Science Centre, at hot chocolate this morning, I asked the children which some of their favourite trips have been. What surprised me was the range of preferences – from visiting the zoo to the gurdwara. The mosque was appreciated for its quietness and travelling by train, Duxford for how it supported the children’s learning about WW2 and Matilda because it was just brilliant!
A huge thank you to the teachers and admin staff who organise and make these trips happen, but a huge thank you must also go to the many parent helpers who accompany us – we can’t do trips without you. If you went to the Science Centre yesterday, I hope you had as much fun as the children and staff!
