Running is a school priority and it was with great excitement that Miss Gibbs and I accompanied twenty-five year 5 and 6 children to the TCS Mini London Marathon last Saturday. This was the first year we had entered the ballot and could not believe our luck when given a place!
The race was a one-mile route, starting at Horse Guards Parade, running past Buckingham palace and finishing down The Mall. With 18,000 children racing (in waves, not all at once!) the atmosphere was incredible! In our wave, MPS had a number of top twenty finishers; Jack in Year 6 even came in 2nd place in our wave and 15th out of the whole 18,0000, an amazing achievement. Well done to all of the children who ran – parents and staff were very proud of you all. Fingers crossed we get a place next year.
